Most job applications now ask “Have you ever been arrested?” not just whether you entered a plea or were convicted. Consequently, a clean criminal history could be the difference between getting or being denied a job, loan, and other things you want in life.
The good news is that, in many cases, you may be able to get your record cleared. There are two main ways to do this: having your criminal record sealed and having your criminal record expunged. Under Florida law, once the record is sealed or expunged, you simply do not need to acknowledge any arrests or pleas covered by the sealed or expunged record, with some exceptions.
